Summon the Kraken!

School presidency. The ability for someone to gain a modicum more power than usual. Also a chance for assholes to be bigger assholes. Thats what seems to be starting with the voting. Raymond signed up straightaway(obviously)with his three cronies voting for him as well. Meanwhile, Cage himself was interested in putting himself on the top rung(under the persuasive suggestion of Samantha), so HE signed up. This obviously put the two popular kids at odds. Though I wouldn't give Raymond a hope of surviving if it came down to a fistfight, I don't doubt that it would be four to one with his gang on his side.

It started with a brawl in the hallways. Well, not a brawl, but an attempted one. Marcus was hanging out in the hallway, just reading some poetry(haiku, believe it or not, it's because he has a big crush on Mariko).I was just over his shoulder when it happened. Brock knocked his book out of his hand and began picking on him. Luckily, years of getting smacked around made Marcus fast. He dodged Brocks swipes easily. When Dekkard camed in, I wondered if he would pull those M19 11 Colts that he carried around in his bag. Luckily, he just did a piercing stare to Brock, who backed down, but Dekkard seemed just as disturbed by Brock. Brock promised to get Marcus later and walked off.  This seemed like the time for Marcus's "sorcerers ways". Samantha had suggested some underhanded tactics in the race, having a locker search on Raymonds locker(which, I'm sure, is full of all manner of drug suppliers stuff), but Cage refused. Bad idea, Raymond wouldn't hesitate like him.

Cage was trying to help out Marcus as well. He seemed to be friendly with Alex(who, I mentioned before, is like a cipher). He talked with her a bit and she seemed to like Marcus, but Marcus is pretty stuck on Mariko. Meanwhile, Raymond had decided to make the playing field a bit more treacherous and told Samantha that Cage had been hitting on Alex(which, as I said, is total BS)and she went off to yell at Cage. She was pretty damn pissed, she almost walked into me! I guess my usual gift isn't working as well as I'd hoped.

Dekkard ditched class. I know he was looking for Katie, that girl who disappeared last week with her friends. My cameras picked him up going into the old aqueduct. That sewer tunnel was slippery as hell, the sullen bastard fell in. He surely had to go home to bathe after that. He did find a shoe though. Definitely was Katies. There was nothing else down there though. No blood, no slime, no trace.

Samantha was throwing an almighty bitchfit at Cage, who was taken away when he had to help Marcus steal something special from Brocks locker. Marcus began chanting to himself and soon enough figured out the combination. Maybe the key was nonsensical jabbering. But he didn't find the token. Meanwhile, Cage was able to convince her that he was speaking to Alex on a friendly basis, not in a dating way. Samantha soon forgave him and he was pretty much convinced to reveal Raymonds habits and hidden job to the police, but Raymond was way quicker, deciding to cut his losses and support Cage instead. This threw a spanner in the works for Cage and fixed the two right up. Popular kids. Don't you hate their guts?

Raymond was making his move on Alex, who was clearly nervous, but glad to be liked. When she was invited to hang out after school with him and his gang. Meanwhile, Cage nonsubtly made it clear to Brock that Marcus was to be left alone. But how does a tough kid convince another tough kid to leave a loser alone? Beating the crap out of him, how else? Brock got his face smashed into the mirror of the shower, blinded with blood and his arm broken. In no uncertain terms, Cage made him swear to leave Marcus alone. For good. Good to have a popular kid on your side, isn't it?

Dekkard was brought along for the ride with Alex, Caitlin and Raymond, but was kicked out when mentioning something about Alex's "shape changing". I thought this odd at first. Read on.

Marcus got a gift of a token from Cage, a towel stained with Brocks blood. Brock is in the hospital. Didn't I mention that he'd get his? Dekkard used the shoe he got from the sewers and Marcus made a fancy circle in that extravagant book barn he calls a basement. Whatever he saw convinced him that Katie might be dead. I hope not. I like Katie. Dekkard, luckily, said he wanted to get rid of whatever was down there to keep it from hurting anyone else. I know whats down there. They should really leave it alone. The weapons he has might not be big enough.

Omg Raymond, stop texting me. He's really going all out with his support for Cage, isn't he?Kind of suspicious....At his mansion, he parted ways with Caitlin, asking for some privacy as he had dinner with Alex. Alex was shown a tour of the mansion, complete with swimming pool, sauna....and master bedroom, which he showed her last. He showed her a fancy dress(are we in "Beauty and the Beast"?) which she felt too uncomfortable to try on, but then was shown first his fancy bathrobe(monogrammed in gold)and then what he wore underneath it, which turned out to be nothing. This broke through her unknowable front and she succumbed beneath the mirrored ceiling of Raymonds bedroom. I decided to shut the cameras down for a bit to give them some privacy, but when I started them again, I noticed that(just for a second) she seemed to have looked just like him. An exact copy. But I might have just been tired.

In the sewers, armed with axes and light artillery, Cage, Dekkard and Marcus were searching. The pipe went underwater, which meant they'd have to swim to find that thing. While Cage tried to lure it in with blood(from his own arm) and Marcus attempted to see it(though he seemed to have been weakened by the vision), Dekkard simply dropped a grenade into the pool and took cover. However, it was less than pleased and struck back, striking Dekkard in the ribs and into a wall with its tentacles. It reared from the water, an enormous kraken, with eyes burning like fire and a roar that nearly shook my camera from the ceiling. Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Raymond was trying to look into the mirror to have a vision, but whatever he saw seemed to have made him mad.

Don't try to find me. Or my cameras.Because you won't. It's a small fortune, but it's worth it if I can see them coming.

The Players

Corvus Grove High School. Location, Toronto Ontario. Oddly enough, the cities population cares more about the recent celebrity break ups than the information I give you right now. But you, the reader, deserve to know.

I'm Joseph Grey. Often enough ignored by the politics of the school, though maybe not enough to avoid being insulted, but all around nice guy. A lot can happen in one day and I got the scoop on it all. Don't ask how I avoided being seen during all of this, you'll have to trust me when I say that this was difficult in itself. For a full understanding of the politics of this school, we'll need to go over the basics. Lets start with the players.

Lets start with the best of the best, Raymond, handsome, king of the castle, popular all around. Rich enough to own a mansion with a swimming pool, where there've been tons of parties (theres one coming up Friday in fact). Rumours around the school (and I'm one who knows it's true) are that Raymond sells drugs with his three lackeys. Yeah, he has three. Bad things come in threes and theres none badder than these thugs. First is Caitlin Green and her brother James. James has been busted several times for drug possession and thinks he's a playa, listening to rap music and wearing his low rider jeans too low and trying to rap. Raymond probably would have failed school already if it wasn't for Caitlin, who covers his ass for note taking in class. Word is she might also be sleeping with Mr. Remlow(Rumlow, that drunk) for Raymond to make sure they pass. Last is certainly Abed, the underachieving best friend of Raymond. Raymond shows off with his convertible and makes sure that he's just on time for class.

Next is Cage. Cage Winters. Some people would call him Cagey, but those people would soon be called history. Captain of the football team, muscular and striking, some say part of him died when his girlfriend Sarah, the captain of the cheerleading squad, passed away six months ago. It could be because he died six months ago too. Don't ask me how he came back, I don't know, but the less said on his girlfriend the better. Driving around in his musclecar, he's definitely the next in the popularity chain after Raymond.

Samantha was made captain of the cheerleading squad after Sarahs passing. Whether they were friends or not, I'm not sure, I didn't get a chance to check it out before the incident in the fields. She definitely has a taste for power and her eyes on Cage(though obviously he's not interested in anyone new yet).

Last of the popular kids is Rachel(Rachelle she says), drama nerd and also resident commercial star, her big claim to fame. I think she wants to work with big directors, which is doubtful at the moment. She's nice though. Most of the other people aren't.

After that, the links in the chain patter off and we have the loose leaves of popularity. Nerds, outcasts, losers and monsters.

Dekkard is the outcast. Everything he looks at is like something he's tracking. He drives around in an old beater, a mustang that breaks down regularly, but you'd be surprised what he keeps in the trunk(no, no dead bodies, but it shouldn't be long now). Weapons. Like, a shit ton of weapons. And not just guns, though theres enough of those to kill a small group or a large elephant. Theres a shitload of necklaces, baubles, rings, pins, staffs and books. Whatever he's preparing for, I hope it's not something against the school. I've got to stay undercover for now though, so I can't speak up about it. Dekkard was raised by his grandparents, especially his WW2 fighter grandfather, after his parents died. Apparantly the trio went for a family outing in the woods. Dekkard came back, but his parents(and the forest) were gone, burned to the ground. Whatever happened to Dekkard must have scarred him somehow.

Serina. Beautiful. Blonde. Dangerous. Transferred from a private school. Apparently with a dad who deals in antiquing. But I know better. She's got an almost otherworldly air about her, something that draws people in. One thing that draws the eye is the tattoo on her wrist. I haven't seen anything like it on any website or in any tattoo store I've been to. She's trouble. The kind of trouble you want.

Mariko is new. Pretty, with glasses. Asian, so overachiever(probably pushed by her family) and definitely kind of distant. She hasn't found her clique yet, so she's not really friends with anyone.

Alex is a puzzle. Really, a big puzzle. She's like a blank slate. Not ugly at all, but not exactly pretty. She's so distant. The times I made conversation, she seemed so forgettable, as if trying to find her place. I wish there was some way to bridge the gap between us. She definitely is looking Raymonds way a lot lately. Is she like Samantha and power hungry or does she want Raymond like so many other people do?

Brock. Big. Dumb. Ugly. A jerk in every way. Criminal assault charges and definite ties to the Raymond gang for possession. Wrestling team fighter. He's been arrested multiple times, but coming from a rich family comes in handy again, he's not going to jail anytime soon. Bully of the worst kind. He'll get his.

Last is Marcus. First to class(driven by his mom), last to leave. Has a sister Moira who just started school. Odd and lonely, but he definitely has ties to Dekkard and Cage. He's into wicca stuff but keeps insisting he's a wizard, not a witch. I've seen odd stuff in his bag, from rat tails to old knuckle bones to old spell books. If that stuff works, someones in trouble.
